Summit Materials is committed to achieving net zero by 2050 through a combination of existing and emerging technologies. Our long-term strategy focuses on reducing CO2 emissions from cement operations, with ambitious 2030 and 2050 targets aligned to our North Star Pillars. By 2030, we aim to address 25% of our 2020 baseline emissions using current technologies, increasing to 50-75% by 2050. For the remaining emissions, we plan to use market-based offsets and credits as we adopt scalable, advanced solutions like carbon capture, sequestration, and fuel switching. This balanced approach supports the low-carbon economy while paving the way for a sustainable, net-zero future.
