Our Operating Companies

Troy Vines was established in 1978 by Troy Vines and is still run by the Vines family. It operates one quarry and one sand & gravel pit and has eight ready-mix concrete plants serving the Permian Basin region of West Texas. Though one of Summit’s smaller companies, Troy Vines offers reliable services and is uniquely positioned in the fast growing West Texas region.

RK Hall Construction Ltd is a leading provider of high quality asphalt paving materials and services, pavement rehabilitation, grading, and bridge construction. Since joining Summit in 2010, RK Hall has acquired several companies so that it now operates 10 asphalt plants reaching customers throughout northeast Texas, southeast Oklahoma and southwest Arkansas. The company works closely with municipal and state transportation departments and performs public and commercial projects.

In March of 2018, Mainland Sand & Gravel joined with Winvan Paving to create Mainland Construction Materials. Mainland Sand & Gravel has supplied all sizes and grades of crushed stone, sand, gravel, river sand and rip rap for the construction industry throughout the Lower Mainland of Vancouver for the past 40 years. The company operates two rock quarries and four distribution yards and supplies aggregates to a broad spectrum of the construction industry.

Kilgore Paving has been operating in the Utah area for over 15 years. When Summit formed Kilgore Companies in 2010 (joining together Altaview Concrete, Kilgore Paving and Maintenance, and Harper Contracting) it greatly expanded the company’s western reach. Since joining Summit, Kilgore Companies has expanded substantially so that the company now serves customers throughout the Rocky Mountain region of the United States including the states: Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, and Wyoming.

Hamm was acquired by Summit Materials in 2009. It is one of the largest aggregate companies in northeast Kansas with significant aggregate reserves, operating 15 strategically located limestone quarries. With over 60 years of experience, tradition lies deep within Hamm’s core and has become the backbone of the company’s success. A culture of distinct ethics, safety and generosity began with Norman Hamm, Hamm’s founder in 1954 and has made HAMM Companies a leader in the construction materials industry.

Founded by Jess Cornejo in 1952, Cornejo & Sons specializes in sand and gravel, ready-mix concrete. The company is also a leader in recycling and C&D landfill services in the Wichita area. Since joining Summit Materials in 2010, Cornejo has acquired LaFarge Wichita and Harshman Quarry, which has allowed them to expand their services. Cornejo operates 8 ready-mix concrete plants, and 30 aggregates locations.

Continental Cement is a cement manufacturer, which operates two cement plants one in Hannibal, MO and a second in Davenport, IA. They have distribution terminals in Minneapolis, MN, St. Paul, MN, LaCrosse, WI, Bettendorf, IA, West Des Moines, IA, St. Louis, MO, Memphis, TN, Convent, LA, and New Orleans, LA. Cement has been manufactured at their Hannibal site since 1903. Today, by these terminals along the Mississippi river, Continental Cement delivers high quality cement to customers from Minnesota to Louisiana.

Con-Agg of MO is a diversified supplier of crushed limestone products, concrete, warehousing facilities, and record-management services. Con-Agg takes great pride in fulfilling the needs of its customers while contributing to the stability of the local economies in which they operate. Con-Agg has over 20 quarry locations serving a large geographical footprint in Central and Northwest Missouri, while their ready-mix operations and storage facilities are concentrated around the Mid-Missouri area.

Boxley Materials Company was established by William Wise Boxley in 1892 and purchased its first quarry 58 miles west of Roanoke in 1908. Today, Boxley operates multiple sites selling aggregate, asphalt and paving services, hardscapes, and ready-mix concrete throughout Roanoke and Lynchburg. Most recently, Boxley acquired Buckingham Slate, which is a fantastic producer of high quality slate for roofs, floors, and many other building uses. Boxley has been a proud part of the Roanoke community for over 100 years.

American Materials’ operations are strategically located to serve the needs of customers in the Eastern region of North Carolina and the Northeastern region of South Carolina. The company’s employees have a wide range of experience in the aggregates business serving a variety of customers throughout the construction industry. AMC’s employees are dedicated to achieving the highest level of excellence in the areas of quality, service, delivery, and cost.

Alleyton Resource is an integrated aggregates and ready-mix concrete company based in Houston, Texas. Alleyton operates eight sand and gravel sites, eleven ready mix concrete locations, and a stabilized sand plant in the west Houston metropolitan area. Shortly before joining Summit, Alleyton acquired Allied Concrete, which started operations in 1954. Allied is a leader in concrete pumping and helps deliver concrete directly to challenging locations.
